Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF-PFS)

Strategic Prevention Framework – Partnerships for Success:

In 2014, The Office of Behavioral Health of Delaware County was one of five counties awarded a five year grant called the Strategic Prevention Framework – Partners for Success (PFS). The PFS is a federal to state to county grant to achieve quantifiable declines in state-wide substance abuse rates. The prevention priority for Partners For Success is prescription drug misuse and abuse, as well as underage drinking and the dangers among youth, young adults, and families. Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems is coordinating the grant to accomplish the goals and initiatives of PFS, which include:

•Reduce use and/or onset prescription drug use and underage drinking
•Diminish the amount of prescription medications available to youth
•Educate the community about underage drinking and the laws of supplying minors with alcohol
•Increase community awareness through health promotions, media campaigns, speaking engagements, and awareness events.

“The Strategic Prevention Framework-Partnerships for Success is funded by the Delaware County Office of Behavioral Health, Division of Drug and Alcohol Programs and is coordinated by Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems.”
